Oh my god! I just created a completely Final Fantasy playlist on Pandora! XD

That's it really.

5 has some great music... but I wish the ad would go away. It's about Saw IV and I hate scary things at night. IT'S DARK AND I'M ALL ALONE!!!
I don't think anyone realizes how awesome the Dirge of Cerberus music score was. But Pandora still has that fucking thing up and this music is not something that is good to fall asleep too.

Oh well. Yay for FF_Land! I'm excited.

Man, Star Wars and FF go together like peanut butter and ~~jelly~~ honey. The Battle of Nalbina Fortress = Star Wars, but with techno-magic." Hell, they even showed what the battle looked like from the vantage point of one of the ~~TIE fighters/X-wings~~ fighter ships.

I know right? Star Wars has always had a special place in my heart, but until I heard Dirge of Cerberus come right after Phantom of the Menace, I hadn't realized that they may co-inhabit the same part.
As far as Rinoa. She is a dork. I love her a lot... out of cannon. I think the game developers didn't put enough thought into the game as a whole. There are so many holes, not even purposeful ones. But I love the characters. I wish Square Enix hadn't been chicken and has actually done something about it.
I think what annoyed me the most was the fact that there wasn't enough visible progress to make it plausible that Squall would be so worked up about needing to save Rinoa.
On one of the many plus sides, she is one of the few FF female characters that are actually reasonably proportioned. =D

I just defeated NORG (so I'm toward the beginning of the second disk), and I've already noticed the little trend you described. Squall still seems pretty apathetic about most people*, but given that the cover artwork is Squall holding Rinoa, I know that he's going to eventually start feeling something, and I don't know how that's going to be believable.

BUT my enjoyment of FFVIII has been immensely bolstered by the recommendation made by a friend, that I keep in mind that everyone in your party is a teenager, and that their young age in reflected in their personal maturity. That's helped alot... and I think I'm going to go right now and write a blog post about this?

* His mancrush on Seifer being a notable exception, maybe?

I guess that's a good recommendation. I'll have to try it. I like playing the beginning and analyzing the dialogue between Seifer and Quistis because both of them are trying so hard and failing just as hard. Seifer really made the game for me. Man I could rant about him forever.

I don't know if this was ever cannon, but I found it really sad that Seifer knew about their past and was constantly getting hurt by his friends. I mean he even went so far as to try and get Zell to remember him by taking his old nickname for the hyper blonde out of the crevices of his heart. I think if Irvine had found Seifer then Seifer wouldn't have fallen so far. He is an extremely loyal character and I've always held a great respect for him because of that.

Oh dear... I really do love 8... not my favorite game by any means, but it's characters still make me wanna cry. Man! Now you've made me wanna write Seifer!
